Football Recap: Bishop Verot Takes Down Calvary Christian Academy in a Playoff Battle + How To Watch

With a playoff win on the line, Bishop Verot rose to the challenge on Friday. They came out on top against the Calvary Christian Academy Eagles by a score of 22-14. The Vikings pushed the score to 22-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Eagles cut but never quite recovered from.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bishop Verot to victory, but perhaps none more so than Deshon Jenkins Jr, who rushed for 116 yards and one score on only 13 carries. Jenkins Jr is becoming a predictor of the Vikings' success: when he posts at least 80 rushing yards the team is undefeated (and 2-6 when he doesn't). Macrae Thompson helped out on the ground, rushing for 118 yards.

Bishop Verot's record now sits at 5-6. As for Calvary Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-3.

Coming up, Bishop Verot will face off against Cardinal Mooney at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Vikings surely won't give up without a fight. Calvary Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
