Soccer Game Preview: Gulliver Prep vs. Belen Jesuit

The Gulliver Prep Raiders will take on the Belen Jesuit Wolverines at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Gulliver Prep's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 5-0 margin over Ransom Everglades. The result was nothing new for Gulliver Prep, who have now won nine contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Their offense was hitting Ransom Everglades from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal.

Meanwhile, Belen Jesuit entered their tilt with Westminster Christian on Saturday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They skirted past the Warriors 2-1. That's two games straight that the Wolverines have won by just one goal.

Andre Toussaint, who's played more minutes than anyone else on the Belen Jesuit squad sat out for Saturday's match. With Toussaint sidelined, Belen Jesuit had to make some big changes to the lineup. Three players got more time on the pitch than they're used to: Armando Osorio (80), Luis Garcia-Chacon (80), and Francisco Moscoso (80). The trio had averaged 53.2, 56.1, and 45.8 minutes respectively before Saturday's game.

Gulliver Prep has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-2-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 27 goals over those eight matches. As for Belen Jesuit, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-4-4.

Gulliver Prep came out on top in a nail-biter against Belen Jesuit in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, sneaking past 3-2. Does Gulliver Prep have another victory up their sleeve, or will Belen Jesuit turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
