Basketball Recap: Shirpsen Jean Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Coral Park

After losing to Coral Park the last time they met, Miami Beach decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Miami Beach Hi-Tides snuck past the Coral Park Rams with a 53-49 win on Thursday.

Miami Beach's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Shirpsen Jean led the charge by dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten assists. Baptiste T was another key player, putting up 16 points.

When it comes to explaining why Coral Park lost, don't look at Angel Lara. Despite the final result, he went 10 of 20 en route to 27 points along with seven boards and four steals. Lara's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jeremias Jimenez, who posted nine points and five rebounds.

The victory got Miami Beach back to even at 6-6. As for Coral Park, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season.

Miami Beach didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 71-56 defeat against Central on the 14th. As for Coral Park, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 40-39 loss against Reagan on the 10th.
