Preview: Gibbon Buffaloes vs. Giltner Hornets
The Gibbon Buffaloes will head out on the road to take on the Giltner Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gibbon is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.
Gibbon suffered their biggest loss since December 5, 2023 on Friday. They were dealt a 72-23 defeat at the hands of Centura. While losing is never fun, Gibbon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 257th, while Centura is ranked 62nd).
Despite the defeat, Gibbon had strong showings from Brooke Sell, who scored five points along with five rebounds and three steals, and Claire Clark, who scored six points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Giltner's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 57-24 loss at the hands of Twin River.
Gibbon's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Giltner, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.
