Baseball Game Preview: Platte Valley Broncos vs. Bennett Tigers

The Platte Valley Broncos will venture away from home to face off against the Bennett Tigers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

On Thursday, Platte Valley came up short against Highland and fell 13-10.

Platte Valley saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jeremiah Molinar, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. What's more, Molinar posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Another was Mason Hunt, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Bennett came up short against Brush on Thursday, falling 11-4. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Beetdiggers recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Bennett's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Platte Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Platte Valley was able to grind out a solid win over Bennett in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, winning 4-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Platte Valley since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
