Basketball Recap: Washington Comes Up Short

Washington has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They had to suffer through a 70-37 loss at the hands of the Lincoln Mustangs. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Eagles have suffered against the Mustangs since January 4, 2022.

Washington's loss on Thursday came despite strong showings from Ezana Hailu and Joseph Mitchell. Hailu went 6-for-15 en route to 16 points and seven boards, while Mitchell posted six points and 13 rebounds. Mitchell is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games he's played.

Washington's loss dropped their record down to 18-9. As for Lincoln, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-9 record this season.

Looking ahead, Washington will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Balboa at 5:30 p.m. Lincoln does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
