Basketball Recap: Heritage Christian Academy Lions vs. St. Paul's Prep Lions

The Heritage Christian Academy Lions scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They walked away with a 58-48 victory over St. Paul's Prep. This was a revenge match for Heritage Christian Academy, as the team was forced to settle for a 42-27 loss when these two played last Monday.

Heritage Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Addison Klock led the charge by scoring 23 points along with two steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Klock has scored at least a third of Heritage Christian Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Sara Spangler, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.

St. Paul's Prep's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trinity Perkins, who scored 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Perkins has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Haylie Hoang, who scored 15 points.

The victory got Heritage Christian Academy back to even at 7-7. As for St. Paul's Prep, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

Heritage Christian Academy will head out on the road to take on the Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for St. Paul's Prep, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Lions at 5:30 p.m. Cristo Rey Fort Worth is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
