Sandia Prep took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Ruidoso, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Sundevils came out on top in a nail-biter against the Warriors on Tuesday, sneaking past 10-9. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

The team relied heavily on Jonas Mahboub, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Ruelas, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Sandia Prep's victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-6. As for Ruidoso, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sandia Prep will take on Bosque at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bobcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.29 runs per game on average), something the Sundevils will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Ruidoso, they will be playing at home against Dexter at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
