Softball Recap: Arcadia Takes a Loss

If Arcadia was riding high fresh off their 14-5 takedown of Riverdale on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Redskins fell just short of the Hopewell-Loudon Chieftains by a score of 13-12 on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Redskins in their meetings with the Chieftains: they've now lost six in a row.

Allyson McCartney was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-5 with four RBI, one run, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Ava Hatcher was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

Arcadia's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Hopewell-Loudon, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Arcadia will head out to square off against Arlington at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Hopewell-Loudon, they will venture away from home to face off against Bellevue at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
