Softball Recap: Fluvanna County Gets the Win

Fluvanna County hadn't done well against Louisa County recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Flying Flucos sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the Lions. This was a revenge game for the Flying Flucos: when they faced off against the Lions back in April, they had to take a 4-1 loss.

Fluvanna County has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Louisa County, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-5.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Fluvanna County is set to face off against their familiar foe Western Albemarle at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Louisa County will square off against rival Albemarle at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in the Lions' favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while the Patriots have been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
