Basketball Recap: Camden Riley's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Northern Durham over Riverside-Durham

Northern Durham was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. The match between them and the Riverside-Durham Pirates didn't end well, with the Northern Durham Knights falling 74-57. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 70-42 back in January.

Northern Durham lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Camden Riley, who went 9-for-15 to rack up 23 points. Amari Stokes was another key player, going 6-for-7 en route to 16 points and seven rebounds.

Darryn Johnson was nothing short of spectacular for Riverside-Durham: he went 5-for-9 on his way to 21 points and six assists. That's the most points Johnson has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Noam Cohen, who earned 13 points.

Northern Durham's loss dropped their record down to 5-19. As for Riverside-Durham, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-15.

As of now, neither Northern Durham nor Riverside-Durham have any future games scheduled.
