Basketball Game Preview: Etiwanda Eagles vs. Redwood Giants

The Etiwanda Eagles just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Redwood Giants at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Etiwanda took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They walked away with a 55-47 victory over Liberty. The win was all the more spectacular given the Eagles' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 94th in California, while the Lions are ranked fifth in Arizona).

Meanwhile, Redwood beat Northeast 59-52 on Friday.

Etiwanda has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Redwood, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Etiwanda was able to grind out a solid win over Redwood in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, winning 49-39. Will Etiwanda repeat their success, or does Redwood have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
