Volleyball Recap: Luella Takes a Loss

Luella was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Ola Mustangs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-15.

Ola found their leader in sophomore Lily Powell, who had seven aces. Those seven aces set a new season-high mark for Powell. Abigail Palacios also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Luella's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Ola, they pushed their record up to 9-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Luella will take on Rockdale County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ola, they have already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Dutchtown on the 19th.
