Soccer Game Preview: Cedar Creek vs. Crockett

The Cedar Creek Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Crockett Cougars at 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Cedar Creek will be strutting in after a win while Crockett will be coming in after a loss.

Cedar Creek gave up the first goal last Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They beat Richards School for Young Women Leaders by a goal, winning 2-1. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with Richards School for Young Women Leaders: they've now won five in a row.

Meanwhile, Crockett was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 7-0 to Liberal Arts & Science Academy - Austin. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 659th, while the Raptors are ranked 217th).

Crockett's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Cedar Creek, their win bumped their record up to 3-11.

Cedar Creek came out on top in a nail-biter against Crockett in their previous meeting back in January, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cedar Creek since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
