Basketball Game Preview: Spearville Lancers vs. Norwich Eagles

The Spearville Lancers are taking a road trip to square off against the Norwich Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Spearville is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Elkhart as Spearville made off with a 65-45 win. Given the Lancers' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 92nd in Kansas, while the Wildcats are ranked 271st in Kansas), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Norwich took on Fairfield on Friday. Norwich breezed past Fairfield to the tune of 73-45. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won nine in a row.

Norwich's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-2-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.9 points over those games. As for Spearville, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.
