Football Game Preview: Rogers Rams vs. Puyallup Vikings + Official Tickets

Rogers is 0-9 against Puyallup since October of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Rams will take on the Vikings at 7:00 p.m. Rogers has given up an average of 32 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Rogers' offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Sumner on Friday. They were outmatched by the Spartans and fell 50-0. The game marked the first time this year in which the Rams were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Puyallup put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. Their defense stepped up to hand South Kitsap a 60-0 shutout. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington football rankings (they are ranked first, while the Wolves are ranked 90th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Puyallup's win came from a few key players Rogers will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Mal Mal Akuffo, who rushed for 90 yards and one touchdown on only ten carries. Jayden Woodland was in the mix as well, providing Puyallup with two TDs.

Puyallup was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 245 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

Puyallup didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jasiah Denmark and Woodland.

Rogers' defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Puyallup, their win bumped their record up to 6-0.

We should be in store for an exciting game as the two teams have no problem gaining yardage. Rogers has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 354.2 total yards per game. However, it's not like Puyallup struggles in that department as they've been averaging 462.8 total yards. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.

Rogers was dealt a bruising 62-12 loss at the hands of Puyallup in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Rams were down 35-6.
