Basketball Game Preview: Charleston Collegiate Sundevils vs. Cathedral Academy Generals

Charleston Collegiate is 2-8 against Cathedral Academy since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Charleston Collegiate Sundevils will welcome the Cathedral Academy Generals at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Charleston Collegiate is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 60-16 loss at the hands of Northwood Academy. The game marked the Sundevils' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Meanwhile, Cathedral Academy lost to Dorchester Academy at home by a 44-28 margin on Tuesday.

Charleston Collegiate will have to keep a close watch on Raven Williams and Madison Jackson, a pair of players who had a big impact on Cathedral Academy's prior game. Williams posted 13 points, while Jackson put up 11 points. That was a full 39.3% of Cathedral Academy's points, marking the third time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points.

Charleston Collegiate's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Cathedral Academy, they dropped their record down to 4-17 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home.

Charleston Collegiate was taken down by Cathedral Academy 68-24 in their previous meeting back in February of 2022. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Charleston Collegiate was down 31-11.
