Basketball Game Preview: Grimsley Whirlies vs. College Prep & Leadership Academy Royals

The Grimsley Whirlies will face off against the College Prep & Leadership Academy Royals at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Grimsley saw some tournament action two weeks ago. They took a 56-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Page.

Despite the loss, Grimsley saw an underclassman step up: freshman Kam Taylor went 7 of 8 en route to 17 points and eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Taylor has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sherrod White, who posted eight points along with six boards and four blocks.

Meanwhile, College Prep & Leadership Academy posted their closest victory since December 29, 2023 on Friday. They had just enough and edged Winston-Salem Prep out 47-45.

College Prep & Leadership Academy pushed their record up to 10-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Grimsley, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.
