Basketball Recap: Walter Johnson Takes a Loss

Walter Johnson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 60-56 heartbreaker at the hands of the Clarksburg Coyotes. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Coyotes apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Clarksburg was led to victory by Kwame Samuels and Anthony Garris. Samuels dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds, while Garris dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. Garris is also crushing it when it comes to blocks: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Ryan Lin, who posted ten points and seven rebounds.

Walter Johnson's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Clarksburg, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-3.
