Baseball Recap: Glendora Continues Road Dominance on Thursday

With a playoff win on the line, Glendora rose to the challenge on Thursday. They walked away with a 4-1 win over the Citrus Valley Blackhawks.

Brayden Johnson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Glendora's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Tanner Grable, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs. Those two runs gave Grable a new career-high. Another was Aiden Yamazaki, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.

Glendora pushed their record up to 19-10 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Citrus Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-13.

Coming up, Glendora will square off against Yucaipa at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Citrus Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
