Basketball Game Preview: Fossil Ridge SaberCats vs. Pinnacle Pioneers + How To Watch

Having just played yesterday, the Fossil Ridge SaberCats will head out on the road to face off against the Pinnacle Pioneers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Fossil Ridge knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Pinnacle likes a good challenge.

On Thursday, Fossil Ridge was able to grind out a solid win over Ironwood, taking the game 57-50.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pinnacle). They walked away with an 85-74 victory over Desert Vista on Monday. While the Pioneers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Fossil Ridge better keep an eye on Cam Hurt. He was instrumental in Pinnacle's win, going 11-for-14 en route to 29 points. Those 29 points gave Hurt a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Malichi Mims, who shot 63% from the field on his way to 17 points and five boards.

Pinnacle was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. They are a perfect 5-0 when they've passed the ball that well.

Pinnacle pushed their record up to 6-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.8 points over those games. As for Fossil Ridge, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
