Football Recap: West Mecklenburg Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Friday just wasn't the day for West Mecklenburg's offense. They had to suffer through a 55-0 loss at the hands of the West Charlotte Lions. The Hawks have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Drake Lineberger threw for 85 yards on nine of 14 attempts. On the ground, Shawn Blackshear rushed for 26 yards.

Jamouri Nichols produced another solid performance rushing for 88 yards and a pair of scores, while also throwing for 80 yards and two TDs on perfect 6-for-6 passing for West Charlotte. Nichols showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 65 yards. Sincere Gray was in the mix as well, providing West Charlotte with two touchdowns.

West Mecklenburg's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for West Charlotte, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

West Mecklenburg wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 43-0 defeat against Hough on the 26th. As for West Charlotte, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 32-9 win against Mallard Creek on the 26th.
