Basketball Recap: Monday's Win Is Louisiana's Sixth in Last Seven Outings

Louisiana hadn't done well against North Callaway recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Louisiana Bulldogs walked away with a 56-43 victory over the North Callaway Thunderbirds. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 61-55 back in December of 2024.

Several Thunderbirds players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Natalie Shryock, who went 5 for 12 on her way to 14 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Lakyn Hartley, who posted eight points and six boards.

Louisiana is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. As for North Callaway, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-9.

Louisiana is taking a road trip to take on Clopton at 5:30 p.m. on February 4th. Clopton will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Louisiana surely won't give up without a fight. As for North Callaway, they will be taking part in a tournament against Van-Far at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. North Callaway is facing Van-Far at the right time seeing as Van-Far is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
