Baseball Recap: Hunter Takes a Loss

Hunter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 12-1 to the Cyprus Pirates. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-0 last Tuesday.

Hunter saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Thomas Woodruff, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases. Jayden Montoya also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Hunter's loss dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Cyprus, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-3.

While Hunter had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
