Baseball Recap: Muncy Takes a Loss

Muncy dropped their record down to 4-4-1 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Northwest Area Rangers, falling 18-6. If the Indians were looking for revenge after losing 2-1 to the Rangers when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Northwest Area, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-3. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Northwest Area's part, Dominic Cavuto was a standout: he got on base in all five of his plate appearances with four runs and two RBI. What's more, Cavuto posted three hits, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. RJ Moyer was another key player, going 2-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Muncy will take on Columbia Montour Vo-Tech at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Indians are facing the Rams at the right time seeing as the Rams are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Northwest Area, they will face off against Sugar Valley Rural at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Phoenix have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed nine runs per game on average), something the Rangers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
