Football Recap: Doral Academy Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Doral Academy and Palmetto squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Doral Academy had to settle for second. They fell 18-6 to the Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Firebirds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 78th, while the Panthers are ranked fifth).

Doral Academy's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-3. As for Palmetto, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-3.

Doral Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Palmetto, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Stoneman Douglas at 3:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Panthers 6.8, the Eagles 0.9) so any points scored will be well earned.
