Somerset Academy - Canyons has gone a perfect 7-0 against Leonard recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Somerset Academy - Canyons Cougars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Leonard Lancers at 3:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Somerset Academy - Canyons has four straight wins, Leonard has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
While Somerset Academy - Canyons didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against Atlantic Christian on Monday as Somerset Academy - Canyons made off with a 15-6 victory. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won four matches by nine runs or more so far this season.
Tyler Schwal made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Schwal was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his six plate appearances.

In other batting news, Matthew Rucci was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-4. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jacob Miller, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.
Meanwhile, Leonard fell victim to Dr. Joaquin Garcia and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 11-0.
Somerset Academy - Canyons pushed their record up to 6-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Leonard, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Somerset Academy - Canyons has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Leonard struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
