Basketball Game Preview: Springfield Tigers vs. McDonald Blue Devils

The Springfield Tigers will take on the McDonald Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Springfield will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Springfield will bounce into Thursday's contest after beating South Range, who they had gone 1-6 against in their seven prior meetings. Springfield came out on top against South Range by a score of 45-38 on Saturday.

It was another big night for Jameka Brungard, who went 7 for 15 on her way to 18 points along with eight steals and five rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Springfield's points. Another player making a difference was Mariana Tuscano, who posted ten points.

Meanwhile, McDonald took their match on Saturday with ease, bagging a 50-13 win over Memorial.

McDonald is also on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. As for Springfield, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Everything went Springfield's way against McDonald in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as Springfield made off with a 43-22 victory. Will Springfield repeat their success, or does McDonald have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
