Softball Game Preview: Clarksburg Rockets vs. McKenzie Rebels

Clarksburg is 0-5 against McKenzie since March of 2017 but things could change on Monday. The Clarksburg Rockets will head out to face off against the McKenzie Rebels at 5:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Clarksburg fell victim to Milan and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 6-0 to the Bulldogs. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Rockets' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, McKenzie came up short against Houston County on Friday and fell 8-5.

Adyson Freeman was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Maggie Hall, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

McKenzie's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Clarksburg, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Clarksburg couldn't quite get it done against McKenzie when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 10-6. Can Clarksburg avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
