Baseball Recap: Abbeville's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Abbeville ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past the Dixie Hornets 5-4. The victory was familiar territory for the Panthers, who have now won three contests in a row.

Abbeville's win was truly a team effort as eight different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ben Overholt, who went 2-for-4 with one run.

Overholt wasn't the only one making solid contact: Abbeville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive matchups.

Abbeville's record now sits at 17-4. As for Dixie, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-5.
