Softball Recap: Holly Comes Up Short

If Holly was feeling good fresh off their 15-0 takedown of Kearsley on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bronchos came up short against the Owosso Trojans on Monday, falling 8-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bronchos of the 11-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2021.

Molly Charboneau (SVSU) made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases and one RBI. Megan McMullen was another key player, earning one run and two stolen bases.

Holly has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. As for Owosso, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Holly will host Fowlerville at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Owosso, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Richmond at 4:00 p.m.
