Football Recap: Jack Sabol Key Part of Team Effort in Mustangs Win

C. Milton Wright's game on Friday was all tied up 7-7 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 23-14 win over the Havre de Grace Warriors. This was payback for the Mustangs, who suffered a 35-14 loss the last time these two teams met.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead C. Milton Wright to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jack Sabol, who rushed for 43 yards, and also threw for 96 yards and one TD. The Mustangs also got a significant boost from Ryan Stem, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 89 yards.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to C. Milton Wright's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Michael Holcomb, Austin Wiater, and Cameron Stepp, who each picked up one sack apiece.

The victory made it two in a row for C. Milton Wright and bumps their season record up to 3-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.0 points over those games. As for Havre de Grace, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. C. Milton Wright will welcome North Harford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Mustangs' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Havre de Grace, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Edgewood at 7:00 p.m. The Rams' defense has only allowed 15 points per game this season, so the Warriors' offense will have their work cut out for them.
