Soccer Game Preview: Othello vs. West Valley

The Othello Huskies will venture away from home to square off against the West Valley Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.

Othello is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to six goals on Thursday, they were much more limited against Ephrata on Saturday. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 2-1.

Meanwhile, West Valley kept a clean sheet against Clarkston on Thursday. They blew past the Bantams 8-0. Considering West Valley have won five matchups by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Othello has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5-1 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those four contests. As for West Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 7-0.

Othello suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to West Valley when the teams last played back in September of 2024. Can the Huskies avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
