Baseball Recap: Hugoton Takes a Loss

Hugoton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Goodland Cowboys. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Eagles couldn't push the score so high this time.

Hugoton's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Goodland, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hugoton will face off against Cimarron on Thursday. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Bluejays have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests. As for Goodland, they will square off against Decatur Community at 3:00 p.m. on the 17th.
