Basketball Game Preview: Teays Valley Vikings vs. Worthington Kilbourne Wolves

The Teays Valley Vikings will head out on the road to take on the Worthington Kilbourne Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Teays Valley is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 72-37 victory over Franklin Heights. The Vikings' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Worthington Kilbourne waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Warriors 59-28. Given the Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 107th, while the Warriors are ranked 592nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Teays Valley better keep an eye on Oliviah Wilkerson. She was instrumental in Worthington Kilbourne's win, dropping a double-double with 20 points and ten boards. Wilkerson is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Audrey Bennett, who posted eight points and four steals.

Worthington Kilbourne smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 15 consecutive matchups.

Worthington Kilbourne's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points over those games. As for Teays Valley, their record now sits at 8-15.

Everything came up roses for Teays Valley against Worthington Kilbourne in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, as the squad secured a 60-21 victory.
