Valley View came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 10-4 to the Monroe Hornets. The Spartans' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Jillian Shell was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Valley View's loss dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Monroe, their victory bumped their record up to 14-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valley View will head out to take on Oakwood at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lumberjacks have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season. As for Monroe, they will face off against Ross at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Rams' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Hornets' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
