Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Harmony

Harmony had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Lake Minneola Hawks by a score of 8-3.

Lindsay Green made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Nicole Yi and Jade Allen did most of the damage at the plate: Yi went 3-for-4 with two RBI, while Allen scored a run while going 1-for-4. Another player making a difference was Emerson Aslan, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Harmony hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in five consecutive games.

Harmony's record is now 6-4. As for Lake Minneola, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Harmony will venture away from home to square off against Lake Howell at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lake Howell's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Harmony's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Lake Minneola, they will head out to challenge Umatilla at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
