Baseball Game Preview: Red Bank Lions vs. McCallie Blue Tornado

The Red Bank Lions will square off against the McCallie Blue Tornado at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Red Bank's tournament run continued when they took on Anderson County on Saturday. The Lions fell 6-2 to the Mavericks. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Red Bank saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anyer Alvarez, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. Tramell Davis Jr. was another, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, McCallie came up short against Chattanooga Christian on Tuesday, falling 14-7.

Nathan Eastman was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Mateo Rodriguez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Kelby Barnett, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Red Bank now has a losing record of 9-10. As for McCallie, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-12.
