Softball Recap: Midland Valley Beats Airport for Their Third Straight Win

Midland Valley never let their opponents score on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Airport Eagles as Midland Valley made off with a 7-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won three contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Jordan Nelson, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three runs. Addison Haltiwanger was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

Midland Valley hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

The victory was the third in a row for Midland Valley, bringing their record up to 6-2. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 11.67 hits in those games compared to only 4.8 in the others. As for Airport, their loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Airport beat Midland Valley by a score of 12-8 on Friday.
