Carmel is ranked highly in their home state and on Friday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Lincoln-Way East. The Greyhounds fell 2-0 to the Griffins. The Greyhounds' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Eli Philistin-Lynch paced Carmel's offense, picking up seven kills. Philistin-Lynch got some help from Shepard Spidel and his 13 assists. Philistin-Lynch was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

Carmel's loss dropped their record down to 12-8-1. As for Lincoln-Way East, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-3 record this season.

Coincidentally, Carmel and Lincoln-Way East will both be playing Cathedral the next time they take the court. The Greyhounds will head out to face the Fighting Irish at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Griffins will play them later in the day, at 8:00 p.m.
