Softball Recap: Delran Find Success

Delran won the last time they faced Moorestown and things went their way on Monday too. The Bears sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Quakers.

Olivia Powell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Gemma DeJoseph, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Lily O'Connor, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Delran's win bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Moorestown, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9-1 record this season.

Delran will host Cinnaminson at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Moorestown, they will square off against Cherry Hill East at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The Quakers are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
