Soccer Game Preview: Gar-Field vs. Wakefield

The Gar-Field Red Wolves will challenge the Wakefield Warriors at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. Gar-Field is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

Gar-Field is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They came out on top against Deep Run by a score of 3-1. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Gar-Field's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked tenth, while Deep Run are ranked 52nd).

Meanwhile, while the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was Wakefield who was credited with the victory on Tuesday. The Warriors got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to Robinson's four.

Gar-Field's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-2-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those three contests. As for Wakefield, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5-3 record this season.
