Pittston has gone 9-1 against Hazleton Area recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Patriots are taking a road trip to square off against the Cougars at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Tuesday as neither Pittston nor Crestwood made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Patriots came out on top against the Comets by a score of 6-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Patriots.

Samantha Herbert spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits.

On the hitting side, Pittston got a massive performance out of Gabby Roman, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Mikaila Sarf, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Pittston kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Crestwood only managed two.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hazleton Area). They blew past Wilkes-Barre 20-8 on Tuesday.

Pittston's record now sits at 9-7. As for Hazleton Area, their record is now 8-9.

Pittston came up short against Hazleton Area when the teams last played back in April, falling 10-5. Can the Patriots avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
