Basketball Recap: Rabun Gap-Nacoochee Comes Up Short

Rabun Gap-Nacoochee lost against Christ School back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Rabun Gap-Nacoochee Eagles came up short against the Christ School Greenies, falling 79-55. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 175th in Georgia, while the Greenies are ranked first in North Carolina).

Christ School's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mason Collins led the charge by going 9 for 13 en route to 19 points and five rebounds. Collins is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Dacen Petty, who went 6 of 7 on his way to 15 points along with five boards and three steals.

Rabun Gap-Nacoochee dropped their record down to 7-10 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Christ School, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 15-0.

Rabun Gap-Nacoochee will face off against Carolina Day at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Rabun Gap-Nacoochee has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 193 points over their last three contests. As for Christ School, they will take on Asheville School (Independent) at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
