Basketball Recap: Northwest Cabarrus Drops Season-High Score on Lake Norman Charter

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northwest Cabarrus). They strolled past the Lake Norman Charter Knights with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 76-57. The victory was nothing new for the Trojans as they're now sitting on six straight.

Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Abby Courtney, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten assists. The dominant performance gave Courtney a new career-high in assists. Another player making a difference was Reece Long, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 17 rebounds.

Northwest Cabarrus has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.2 points per game. As for Lake Norman Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 11-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northwest Cabarrus has already played their next contest (against West Rowan), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Lake Norman Charter will challenge Central Cabarrus at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Lake Norman Charter's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine games.
