Baseball Game Preview: Southern Trojans vs. LKY Saints

The Southern Trojans will face off against the LKY Saints at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Saturday, Southern earned a 5-1 win over East Jessamine. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trojans.

Alex Coba looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Marlon Rojas was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

LKY came out on top against Kentucky Country Day on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fourth inning. The Saints had just enough and edged out the Bearcats 10-9.

The team relied heavily on Titus Combs, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. LKY is undefeated when Combs posts two or more runs, but 8-11 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Noah Howell, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

LKY kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March.

Southern's victory bumped their record up to 17-11. As for LKY, their win bumped their record up to 14-11.
