Soccer Recap: Merritt Academy Comes Up Short

If Merritt Academy was riding high fresh off their 7-0 takedown of Taylor Prep on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mustangs came up short against the Chavez Academy Aztec Eagles on Wednesday, falling 8-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Chavez Academy this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-1 on April 14th.

Merritt Academy now has a losing record of 3-4-2. As for Chavez Academy, they pushed their record up to 7-1-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Coming up, Merritt Academy will host Advanced Tech Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Chavez Academy, they will venture away from home to take on Taylor Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Chavez Academy are facing Taylor Prep at the right time seeing as Taylor Prep are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
