Volleyball Game Preview: West Stanly Colts vs. South Rowan Raiders

The West Stanly Colts will face off against the South Rowan Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. West Stanly will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak.

West Stanly is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Everything went their way against North Surry as they made off with a 3-0 victory.

Meanwhile, South Rowan made easy work of Pisgah on Thursday and carried off a 3-0 win.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: South Rowan took every set by at least 25 points. The final score came out to 25-0, 25-0, 25-0.

South Rowan's win came from a few key players West Stanly will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Campbell Withers, who had 12 digs and three assists. She has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more digs the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Cressley Patterson, who had six kills, five digs, and three blocks.

South Rowan's victory bumped their record up to 21-6. As for West Stanly, their win bumped their record up to 23-3.

West Stanly was able to grind out a solid victory over South Rowan in their previous meeting back in January of 2021, winning 3-1. Will the Colts repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
