Richfield is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Juab a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. The Richfield Wildcats will welcome the Juab Wasps at 3:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Providence Hall hit Richfield with a four-run fifth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wildcats fell 8-5 to the Patriots. Surprisingly, this marked the third straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.
Austin Morgan put in work no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Morgan was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs.
Morgan wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Hayden Hansen, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run.
Meanwhile, Juab also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Delta by a score of 11-7.
Juab also got a good showing from Ty Warburton, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Those zero earned runs gave Warburton a new career-low.
On the hitting side, Rhett Richards stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Trevor Garrett was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI and one double.
Richfield's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Juab, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-11.
