Baseball Game Preview: Sparkman Senators vs. Blackman Blaze

The Sparkman Senators will head out on the road to face off against the Blackman Blaze at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Neither Sparkman nor Blackman posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

On Thursday, Sparkman didn't have quite enough to beat Columbia Central and fell 3-2. The Senators have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Blackman fell victim to Independence and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Blaze have suffered since April 22, 2025.

Blackman saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Monson, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Sparkman's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Blackman, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.
